1996 Ducati 900 SS/CR with period correct modifications. I replaced the stock carbs with Kiehin FC41 carburetors. Original coils and cables were replaced with Dyna Tek high output coils/cables. Staintune slip on exhaust and Sargent seat with under seat storage shown in picture. Chain and sprockets are fairly new. Tires are about 10 years old. They should probably be replaced with fresh rubber for maximum grip…The belts were replaced at about 15k miles and valves were adjusted then. So, nothing needed but regular oil changes as far as maintenance goes. It also has a new battery. The stator and rectifier were replaced about 5 years ago with Ricks stator and rectifier.
The hydraulic clutch slave cylinder was replaced years ago with the gold billet slave cylinder shown. The clutch pull is like butter!
You may notice that the trellis frame color is not the shade of gold that OEM frames were. This is because the frame was sent to California by previous owner to have the steering head reinforced with a plate welded (see pictures). Ducati’s of this era had a problem with stress cracks in the welds at the steering head, and the modification corrects the problem. The frame was painted after the modification was done. There are tiny rust specs on the frame finish, but no major rust.
The aluminum engine cases show some weathering. The bike has never been wrecked. The paint is very nice with only one scratch
(shown in picture).
I am retired and may be able to work something out as far as shipping goes. I have enjoyed this bike for about 15 years but am getting too old for sport bikes.
The bike runs as good as it looks. The Brembo brakes are superb! The engine hasn’t been internally modified or gone into. It takes a while to warm up as the carburetors don’t have chokes installed. It idles and runs as it should.
